University of Delhi
DUThe University of Delhi (DU) is a premier collegiate public central university established in 1922. It follows the 10-point UGCF / CBCS grading scale with standard percentage conversion formula Percentage = CGPA × 9.5.
Vellore Institute of Technology
VITVellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is a premier Institution of Eminence in India established in 1984. It operates under the Fully Flexible Credit System (FFCS) using a 10-point letter grading scale (S, A, B, C, D, E, F, N) with percentage formula Percentage = CGPA × 10.

How It Works
Three frictionless steps to evaluate your semester and cumulative academic performance
Choose University & Course
Select your institute and degree program. The calculator instantly configures exact subject lists, credits, and official grade scales.
Enter Marks or Grades
Click any semester and toggle between numeric marks (0-100) or letter grades. The engine automatically maps scores to official grade points.
Instant SGPA & CGPA
View your credit-weighted SGPA and cumulative CGPA instantly. Un-entered semesters (0.00) are never counted toward your CGPA.
Why University-Specific Grading Matters
Most online GPA calculators use generic, arbitrary grade boundaries (e.g. 90-100 = A+) that do not match real university transcripts.
Generic Calculators
- Fixed 90-80-70 grade cutoffs applied universally
- Ignores course subject credit weightings
- Treats empty semesters as zeroes and deflates CGPA
- Calculates incorrect arbitrary percentage values
CGPA Calculator Free
- Preloaded with verified university grading systems
- Exact credit-weighted SGPA and CGPA formula
- Empty semesters (0.00) are safely ignored
- Official percentage conversion formulas (e.g. VTU, DTU)
Frequently Asked Questions
How is CGPA different from SGPA?
SGPA (Semester Grade Point Average) measures academic performance in a single semester: Σ(Grade Point × Subject Credit) / Σ(Semester Credits). CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) measures overall performance across all completed semesters: Σ(Semester Grade Points × Semester Credits) / Σ(Total Completed Credits).
Why does university-specific calculation matter?
Universities use different grading scales (e.g. 10-point standard CBCS, relative grading, minus-point systems at IITs) and unique percentage conversion formulas (such as VTU [CGPA - 0.75] × 10 or standard CGPA × 10). Generic calculators provide inaccurate results because they ignore these rules.
Do empty semesters lower my CGPA on this calculator?
No. Empty semesters (0.00 SGPA with no entered marks) are strictly excluded from the cumulative calculation. Only semesters with valid entered marks or grades participate in your CGPA.
Is my academic data saved securely?
Yes, your data is stored locally in your browser (via localStorage) so you can resume calculations anytime. No personal data is sent to external servers.
Can I enter letter grades instead of numeric marks?
Yes! Every subject row features a direct [Marks | Grade] toggle allowing you to enter either raw percentage marks or select the official letter grade.
